Bigger Than Life

WORLD'S LARGEST SWIMMING POOL

The San Alfonso del Mar condo complex in Algarrobo, Chile, about 70 miles west of Santiago, has drawn the Pacific in its courtyard. Click HERE for more pics & info...

It may not only fulfill your dream of having a deep swim in the salty water but present calm and beautiful oceanic setting as well. The fabricated saltwater pool or call it a paradise on the earth, measuring well over one thousand yards in length and 115 feet in depth, is always filled with 66 million gallons of water and spreads across 20 acres. Apart from swimming and the beautiful background, the pool also offers a temperature controlled indoor beach, sailing, kayaking and scuba diving for adventurous travelers. Moreover, water shuttle service for a quick move from one corner of the resort to the other is always at your service.

As the wonders and marvels takes some effort and time and cannot be shaped overnight, the pool at the San Alfonso del Mar condo complex took five years and about $1.96 Billion, not a less amount in any way, to amaze the world. Apart from this $3.91 Million in annual are required to maintain the computerized suction and filtration system that keeps pouring the fresh seawater into the Guinness Book record holder man-made pool.

Fernando Fischmann, developer of the 'pulse oxidation' system for the pool, has plans to build about half a dozen such super-pools for some big backyards across the world, including Argentina, Panama and last but not the least the wonder city, Dubai.
